The final game of the WFTDA Division 1 Playoffs in Richmond featured – appropriately – black and blue (uniforms) on the track. At least two skaters made a quick trip to see the medics for minor flesh wounds when Philly Roller Girls (#14, seed #4), of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, faced off against Texas Rollergirls (#6, #2 seed), of Austin, Texas.

Angel City Derby Girls (#5, seed #1), of Los Angeles, California, defeated Naptown Roller Girls (#13, seed #3), of Indianapolis, Indiana, 222-130, earning third place in 2013 WFTDA Division 1 Playoffs in Richmond, and a spot at the Championships, Nov. 8-10, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This will be Angel City’s first trip to the Championships.

Kansas City Roller Warriors (#21, #5 seed), of Kansas City, Missouri, defeated Jacksonville RollerGirls (#30, seed #8), of Jacksonville, Florida, 199-171, to earn fifth place in the 2013 WFTDA Division 1 Playoffs in Richmond. This fast-paced, hard-hitting game could’ve gone either way, with blockers and jammers that seemed to be a near-perfect match for each other.

Terminal City Roller Girls (ranked 38, seed 10) of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, beat New Hampshire Roller Derby (ranked 37, seed 9), of Nashua, New Hampshire, 250-154, to earn seventh place in 2013 WFTDA Division 1 Playoffs in Richmond. Despite a fierce battle on the track, the seventh and eighth place teams did their “victory” lap together at the end of the game.

No Coast Derby Girls (#22, seed #6) couldn’t recover from 24 penalties in the first half – six of them against two primary jammers. The team from Lincoln, Nebraska, took tenth place in the 2013 WFTDA D1 Playoffs Richmond, losing to Tampa Roller Derby (#29, #7 seed), of Tampa, Florida, 283-133.
