Founded in the summer of 2006, the River City Rollergirls is a 501(c)(3) charitable sports organization located in the greater Richmond region of Virginia. Its purpose is to promote a positive, competitive sporting experience for women as well as to provide role models for new generations of women in the community. Strong. Positive. Teamwork. Community.
Located in Virginia’s capital, the Greater Richmond Convention Center is one of the most desirable meeting destinations in the Mid-Atlantic region. The 700,000-square-foot facility sits on 5 and a half city blocks.
With Interstates 95 and 64 running through the heart of the city, Richmond is easily accessible by car from many East Coast cities. Those flying into the tournament will likely arrive at Richmond International Airport, about a 15-minute drive from the venue and hotels. Washington Dulles International Airport, about two hours north of Richmond, offers more abundant flight options. Both airports offer car rentals from the major agencies.
Amtrak and Greyhound both offer service to Richmond. Taxis are available at the bus and train stations, however rental cars are not offered there.
The Richmond Marriott is located directly across the street from the Greater Richmond Convention Center. There are many sites within easy walking distance - everything from a botanical garden to museums to the Virginia State Capitol, the White House of the Confederacy and even the church where Patrick Henry cried out for “liberty or death.”
Real. Strong. Athletic. Revolutionary.
