The final game of Day 2 of Landlocked Lace Up featured tournament hosts No Coast Derby Girls (#7) battling it out against Tallahassee Rollergirls (#9).
The first half was a clear test of which team could grab lead jammer more often, and the winner was clearly No Coast. Taking lead jammer all but four of the jams for the first half, No Coast took charge of the track and the game, throwing Tallahassee off their game. No Coast jammer Flash Gloria scored 78 of the team's 161 points in the first half, while Tallahassee scored only 30.
Tallahassee used halftime to regroup, and came out strong against No Coast's defense. Tallahassee jammer Catchup scored 20 points after a quick nine for the team earlier in the half, nearly doubling the team's first period score. And while No Coast's jammers continued to put points on the scoreboard, Tallahassee worked to answer many of the jams by putting a few points on the scoreboard whenever possible.
After 25 minutes of play in the second, Tallahassee blocker and sometimes jammer Great Wall of Gina fouled out of the game for accruing seven trips to the box. And their efforts to close the gap for a chance to play for fifth against Nashville were too slim and their momentum came too late in the game. No Coast defeated tournament first-timers Tallahassee 229-149. Tallahassee moves on to play Omaha Rollergirls for a second time this tournament for a chance at seventh place.
