In 2009, the Atlanta Rollergirls successfully hosted the WFTDA South Central Region at Southern Fried Smackdown. We are now honored to host the entire WFTDA community with the 2012 WFTDA Championship Tournament! Our current league of 70+ active skaters, ~15 refs and NSOs, ~15 major support staff and numerous additional volunteers are ready and willing to give our all again to provide an exciting, efficient and successful Championship weekend!
What can fans and skaters expect from their trip to Atlanta?
Easy accessibility! Atlanta is a hub for Delta and AirTran, and most recently Southwest. Nearly 80% of Americans can fly to Atlanta in less than two hours and MARTA trains whisk you to and from the airport quickly and easily.
Fantastic live music - Atlanta has recently been touted as the music capital of the Southeast, and Atlanta Rollergirls have contacts in the local music scene.
Delicious food — Good ol’ Southern country cooking, hearty steak dinners, fresh seafood and sushi, ethnic cuisine, and exciting vegetarian and vegan fare, not to mention delicious confections and pastries prepared by two of the Atlanta Rollergirls themselves.
Lovely weather - Although we are known as Hotlanta, November averages a high of 62˚F and a low of 39˚F.
Good times - Atlanta Rollergirls get the job done and then cut loose! Fans and skaters can expect to have the time of their lives, both during the tournament and at, what are surely to become world-famous, the Atlanta-hosted after-parties.
And, of course, Southern hospitality at its finest! The Atlanta Rollergirls and the city of Atlanta look forward to providing all attendees with an enjoyable, memorable, and successful 2012 Championship Tournament experience!
