WFTDA and MRDA Roll Out Launch Plans for Roller Derby Officiating Certification Program

The Women’s Flat Track Roller Derby Association and the Men’s Roller Derby Association are pleased to announce the upcoming launch of the new Certification Program for Roller Derby Officials.The new certification system is owned and managed by the WFTDA, with the support of the MRDA, and supports training for all flat track roller derby officials. Certification will be granted based on proven completion of officiating education requirements, skills assessments and game experience. Game requirements include both sanctioned and regulation play in order to facilitate access for more officials. For certified officials, evaluations and feedback may still be submitted and will be reviewed, but are not a requirement.

WFTDA Releases Updated Risk Management Guidelines and Track Layout Guide

The WFTDA has released updated versions of the WFTDA Risk Management Guidelines and the WFTDA Track Layout Guide to incorporate new track graphics and clarifications and amend errors. There are no substantive changes to either document.

WFTDA Releases French Translation of the December 1, 2017 Edition of The Rules of Flat Track Roller Derby

The Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) released the French translation of the December 1, 2017 Rules of Flat Track Roller Derby. This translation is available in a PDF format and includes an explanation of the gender-neutral language for French readers.

WFTDA and Roller Derby Deutschland Collaborate on Release of First Gender-Sensitive German Translation of The Rules of Flat Track Roller Derby

The Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) and Roller Derby Deutschland released the German translation of the December 1, 2017 Rules of Flat Track Roller Derby. This release is the first collaboration between WFTDA and Roller Derby Deutschland and the first gender-sensitive version of the German rules.
