WFTDA Hires Education Manager, Ushers in Big Changes for Officiating Education

The WFTDA is excited to announce the hiring of Katharina Bohnert “Catherine Beat-Her Bonez”, as the Education Programs Manager. This newly created position brings education to the forefront of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association's daily endeavours. Katharina is also the WFTDA’s first European staff member.

WFTDA Releases French and German Rules Translations, Announces December 2017 Document Releases

The Women’s Flat Track Roller Derby Association released the web format of the French and German translations of the January 1, 2017 edition of* The Rules of Flat Track Roller Derby*. Both releases are the result of the hard work of our volunteer French and German translation teams.

WFTDA Announces Executive Director Transition

November 7, 2017

Last month, the Board of Directors of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association accepted the resignation of Executive Director, Cassie Haynes. Cassie will join the Mayor of Philadelphia’s Office of Community Empowerment and Opportunity as Deputy Director of Innovation.

Statement From Erica Vanstone, WFTDA Chief Media Officer

I wanted to take a moment today to apologize for a callous and insensitive comment I made on last night’s broadcast that devalued the devastation our indigenous community have endured and still endure in Turtle Island (America), and frankly, worldwide. I apologize, and we’ve removed the comment from the broadcast archive to prevent further harm. I appreciate the colleagues I have in our derby community who are willing to call me out when I say something insensitive or inappropriate and who care about me enough to tell me that I have hurt them deeply. I am truly sorry and I can do better.
