What was the turning point for your league to make it to Playoffs this season?
It's hard to think of a turning point that pushed us into Playoffs this year. We have a lot of fresh talent ready to tackle the WFTDA. It was great to start the season with a big win over longtime rival, Windy City. And then there was our most recent trip to Los Angeles where we played Angel City and then a game with LA Derby Dolls on the banked track. These were motivational moments for us in the sense that they showed us what we need to work on and what we can expect in Playoffs.
Has your league experienced any retirements, transfers or injuries in the past year that have made a substantial difference in your league’s play and performance?
We had a lot of changes in our jamming rotation, MNRG's beloved skaters Harmony Killerbruise moved to St. Louis, MEDUSA retired, Slambda Phage moved back to New York, Crowella DeVille retired, as did L'exi Cuter. Buzz Tightrear, who is a formidable blocker is also out this travel season. This has made it possible for skaters who have been on the team to really step up on the track. We've really seen this as an opportunity to show how deep our program is.
Does your league have a motto, or words that it lives by?
Ha! Yes, Winter is Coming. November in Minnesota can be cold, bring your coat (insert picture of John Snow with the wind blowing in his hair and his big crow coat here).
Real. Strong. Athletic. Revolutionary.
