The first game of Day 2 at Division 2 Tournament in Duluth featured the Brewcity Bruisers from Milwaukee, Wisconsin against the Omaha Roller Girls from Omaha, Nebraska in a battle to stay out of the ninth-tenth place game on Sunday.

With a win earlier in the day, 8 seed Treasure Valley Rollergirls (Boise, ID) earned the right to meet the 1 seed St. Chux Derby Chix (O’Fallon, MO) in the final action-packed game of Friday night. The teams were well matched in style of play, strategies, speed and even stature.

Early into Friday’s game 5, 2 seed Detroit Derby Girls (Detroit, Michigan) established control and power on the track over 10 seed Brandywine Rollergirls (Downingtown, Pennsylvania) and they never let it go.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin’s Brewcity Bruisers struggled to find their footing at times during Game 4 against the Fabulous Sin City Rollergirls, of Las Vegas, Nevada, but they mustered the heart and fight to repeatedly rally and close up the point deficit.

The first day of the 2014 WFTDA Division 2 Playoffs in Duluth, Minnesota, continued to serve up nail-biting matchups among the closely ranked teams. In Game 3, Tucson Roller Derby (6 seed, #53), of Tucson, Arizona, had the crowd on their feet as they came within a jam of upsetting the Big Easy Rollergirls (3 seed, #48), of New Orleans, Louisiana.
