Your Hosts: Green Mountain Derby Dames and Montreal Roller Derby

Green Mountain Derby Dames Logo

Green Mountain Derby Dames has enjoyed the hard work and hospitality of leagues who have hosted tournaments we have attended and we wanted to show our appreciation by returning the favor and introducing the derby community to our beloved and beautiful state. We are doubly excited to be able to host the East Region Playoff Tournament during foliage season! The leaves will be colorful, and with any luck, the weather will be sunny and crisp as it often is in the fall. Sorry, no guarantees, but we've never had bad weather on a bout day before!

Burlington, the nearest city to the venue, is right on the shores of Lake Champlain with a beautiful view of the Adirondack Mountains. To the east, you can see a silhouette of the Green Mountains from almost anywhere in the area.

We’re much more than pretty scenery though. Burlington is a lively, walkable community with terrific restaurants, bars, shops, and wonderful people. We are passionate about local, so you'll have no trouble finding local beer, food, and of course, maple syrup! We are so excited to share all this with the roller derby community!

Finally, we are thrilled to be co-hosting with Montréal Roller Derby, for whom we have held a longtime derby crush for their ninja moves, fun-loving attitudes and ability to rock anything neon.

Established in November 2007, the Green Mountain Derby Dames became Vermont's first roller derby league. Its two teams, Grade A Fancy (WFTDA) and the Black Ice Brawlers, compete throughout the northeast and Canada.

Real. Strong. Athletic. Revolutionary.
