Q&A

What was the turning point for your league to make it to Playoffs this season?
Our Travel Team did a lot of rebuilding last year and kept a core group of skaters in the program through this season. We worked very hard to build skills and strength throughout a roster of 20 skaters to have the deep bench we have now. We spent the entire season hoping that strategic bouts scheduled and corresponding training focus in practice would help us to jump to the D2 level of game play.

Who is/are this year’s Captain(s) of your travel team? What about that skater makes her such a good leader?
2 Captains:
Coop-Knows a lot about derby strategy on the track, studies current training trends, and understands how to organize the team.

Neel-Has a passion for the game of derby that is evident when you work with her. It becomes contagious and she inspires others to work hard.

Does your league have a motto, or words that it lives by?
"Get in the Truck"

#GetInTheTruck

To us this was a way for us to bond as a team and show that we all have the same purpose for this season. Early in the season we established a goal of getting to Division 2 playoffs which we coined as "Get in the Truck" in order to build team buy in for our goal.

Real. Strong. Athletic. Revolutionary.
