Q&A

Have you ever played any of the teams in your Playoff bracket? If so, how did those games turn out? If not, which match-up are you most excited about? Why?
We play Stockholm first, and they are totally new to us! We are excited about that. We have played many of the teams in the bracket, although much of our team is composed of skaters totally new to tournament play, and all of the other teams have changed over time as well; so in some ways we will all be new to each other. It is fun to see how teams change from year to year, irrespective of rosters… and how they don’t.

Who is the newest skater to your travel team? Your most veteran skater? For how long have they been skating with your team? What newness or “aged experience” do these skaters add to your team?
As with many charter teams now, much of our team has transferred to Rat City from other leagues. So, although new to the team, they are not new to competitive play. Our team veteran is probably the infamous Carmen Getsome (Lacey Ramon), who needs no introduction. Our newest players are Ellie Sherker and Shock Therapy, both veterans of B team play, both intense and driven athletes, and both newly added to the charter just in time for Playoffs! Gooooo new teammates!

Who are your highest-scoring jammers? What was the most they scored in a single jam? In a single bout?
Luna Negra has incredible jamming powers – last year, at Playoffs, she got lead more than 50% of the time. We all joke that she is so magical, she has a unicorn for a pet named Jeremy. But really, she works incredibly hard both at team practice and in strength training, and she earns every bit of that magical sparkle through the blood, sweat, and tears she spends on the team, week after week.

Real. Strong. Athletic. Revolutionary.
