GOTHAM ALL-STARS TAKE 1ST PLACE; DENVER MILE HIGH CLUB TAKES 2ND

Top ranked, first seed and defending three-time international WFTDA champions the Gotham Girls All-Stars defeated the Denver Roller Dolls Mile High Club for the championship spot of the 2014 international WFTDA Division 1 Playoffs in Sacramento, 193-89. Denver kept the score within reach for more than half of the game, but ultimately Gotham pulled away.

Minnesota prepares for Champs after defeating Rat City

With the top two teams of the international WFTDA Division 1 Playoffs of Sacramento already decided, Minnesota RollerGirls of St. Paul, Minnesota, USA (seed 2, rank #8) rallied for a win over Rat City Rollergirls of Seattle, Washington, USA (seed 4, rank #16) after being unseated by Denver Roller Dolls (seed 3, rank #9) in game 12 on Saturday. The win solidified the trip to WFTDA Championships for the ladies in aqua and army.

THE TAMPA TANTRUMS SCOOP UP THE FIFTH PLACE SPOT OVER THE TERMINAL CITY ALL-STARS

Five seed Terminal City All-Stars (#18) faced off against 7 seed Tampa Tantrums (#26) in a fight for 5th place in the international 2014 WFTDA D1 Playoffs. Both teams grabbed points tit for tat, with the first period ending nicely for Terminal City, but Tampa staged a massive rally in the second half Tampa to take a 182-156 win.

The Santa Cruz Derby Girls (6 seed, #25) and Kansas City Roller Warriors (8 seed, #33) went toe-to-toe in an evenly matched battle for 7th Place on the final day of the international 2014 WFTDA Division 1 Playoffs in Sacramento. Santa Cruz’s stalwart defense kept them on top, despite a strong effort from Kansas City.

NEW HAMPSHIRE ALL-STARS TAKE NINTH PLACE; BLUE RIDGE ROLLERGIRLS FINISH TENTH

In a battle for ninth and tenth place in the international 2014 WFTA Division 1 Playoffs, 10 seed Blue Ridge Rollergirls (#41) took on 9 seed New Hampshire Skate Free or Die All-Stars (#34). The tightly matched game ended with New Hampshire on top, 168-111.
