In their second games of the international WDTFA D1 Playoffs, Blue Ridge Rollergirls (seed 10, rank #42) from Asheville, North Carolina take on the Terminal City Rollergirls (seed 5, rank #18) from Vancouver, Canada. This year, Blue Ridge Rollergirls climbed the WFTDA ranks up to D1 from last year’s third place spot in D2. This, however, did not save them from a hard loss to Terminal City, 377-76.

In Game 6, the final game of Day 1 at the international WFTDA Division 1 Playoffs in Sacramento, the Rat City Rollergirls (seed 4, rank #16) of Seattle, WA, USA worked through transitions, maintaining fast pack pace to defeat the Terminal City Rollergirls (seed 5, rank #18) of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada 191-142.

Kicking off Friday evening of the international 2014 WFDTA Division 1 Playoffs in Sacramento, the Minnesota RollerGirls (2 seed, rank #8) from Saint Paul, Minnesota played the winner’s of the afternoon’s Game 2, Tampa Roller Derby (7 seed, rank #8) from Tampa, Florida.

The No. 8 seed Kansas City Roller Warriors (Kansas City, KS) topped New Hampshire Roller Derby in their first game of the day (178-97) to earn the chance to take on the No. 1 seed Gotham Girls Roller Derby in a game that saw the superb Gotham game play keep Kansas off the scoreboard, but not out of the action.

DENVER ROLLER DOLLS DOMINATE SANTA CRUZ DERBY GIRLS

In the third game of the international 2014 WFTDA Division 1 Playoffs in Sacramento, Denver Roller Dolls (3 seed, rank #9) from Denver, Colorado took on the Santa Cruz Derby Girls (6 seed, rank #25) from Santa Cruz, California. Despite strong defensive walls from Santa Cruz, there was no holding Denver back. Denver came out on top with a solid margin of victory, 260-48.
