Q&A

Has your league experienced any retirements, transfers or injuries in the past year that have made a substantial difference in your league’s play and performance?
Unfortunately. Sage started out the beginning of the year with a torn ACL and decided to take a break from derby to have surgery. Dickie retired from Denver towards early in the season to transfer to a league closer so she could open a Colorado Springs DerbySupply storefront. Meanwhile, Serelson and Rivas transferred to Rose City towards the end of May for personal reasons. The dynamics of the team have definitely shifted since the beginning of the year which has proved difficult at times. But overall we've been able to see skaters take ownership of their training and push themselves. There are still areas to be refined, as will always be the case, but the dust feels like is starting to settle.

Have you ever played any of the teams in your Playoff bracket?
We've played a few of the teams in our Playoff bracket so far this year: Gotham, Terminal, Kansas and Tampa. We really strived to do our best in every single one of those games, and were able to pull the win with all except Gotham (so far).

We're stoked to play all of the potential match-ups. We just really love playing roller derby, so any chance we get to play against such top-notch teams is exciting for us.

Real. Strong. Athletic. Revolutionary.
