Q&A

What was the turning point for your league to make it to Playoffs this season?
Losing by one point at Championships was a heartbreaker that lit a fire for our whole team to make a significant move up in the rankings and make it to playoffs. Our first tournament for 2014 was Spring Slam in Sacramento and we came out winning all three games. That set the stage for us to continue to push ourselves to improve and make great gains as a team to compete at the Division 1 level.

We recently played Rat City on June 29th at PAC Destruction, hosted by Angel City. Rat won 192 to Santa Cruz 154. It was a tight game with a couple lead changes, really good match up. We'd love to have another shot at Rat City.

Have you ever played any of the teams in your Playoff bracket?
We have played Terminal City a few times. They are great athletes and another great matchup for our team. The last time we played them was in March 2013 at Wild West Showdown. We beat them by two points in the last jam, score was 138 Santa Cruz, 136 Terminal.

We have also played Tampa, but that was back in 2011 when we started on the pivot line.
