West Region Playoffs
Sept 21–23, 2012 — Richmond, CA Hosted by B.ay A.rea D.erby Girls

Transportation Information

The Bay Area boasts two airports and offers myriad public transportation options. While we have a decent public transportation system, getting to/from the Craneway Pavilion (and other amazing places in the Bay Area that are fun to explore) could be challenging, so the B.ay A.rea D.erby Girls recommend renting a car. Oakland International Airport (OAK) is approximately 14 miles to the hotel location in Emeryville and San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is approximately 21 miles.

Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART)

Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART), the regional rail system, is accessible from both airports. At OAK, you will need to hop on the AirBart shuttle to get from the airport to the nearby BART station. SFO has a BART station located in the international terminal. At the MacArthur BART Station, the City of Emeryville offers a free bus service called the Emery-Go-Round, which will take you to the hotel area.

If you are taking BART from OAK, hop on the AirBart shuttle, which will take you from the airport to the Coliseum/Oakland Airport BART Station. At the station, purchase a ticket ($2.05 one way / $4.10 round trip) and get on the Richmond bound train. Exit the train at the MacArthur BART Station. From there you can either take the Emery-Go-Round, a free bus service offered by the City of Emeryville, that will take you directly from the station to your hotels (http://www.emerygoround.com/). Or there are a line of taxi cabs to the left, when you exit the station.

If you are flying into SFO, BART conveniently has a station located in the International Terminal. Simply board the AirTrain Red Line from the terminal you arrive in to the International terminal. When you arrive, take the escalator down to the departures level and walk straight ahead to the BART station. At the station, purchase a ticket ($8.60 one way / $17.20 round trip) and get on the Pittsburg/Bay Point bound train.

Public Transit Trip Planner

If you choose not to rent a car, a helpful tool for navigating the region's assorted transit systems is http://www.511.org/.
