Who should we watch out for on the track during your appearance at the 2012 West Region Playoffs and why?
Luz Chaos has been amazing in WFTDA games this season and she just had her one-year derbyversary. She has moves and style that win over the fans. Ginger "Reeking" Havoc is an amazing pivot that we have truly come to trust and respect on the track. New to the roster you might find Tushy Pushy turning heads and making impressions throughout the derby community. The blocking style of Messy Missy has grown incredibly and usually always catches the attention of the fans (and refs).
What's the Tent City Terrors’ most memorable derby moment?
In recent history, it was having such a close game against Rocky Mountain Rollergirls. We went in with low expectations but high hopes, and played with confidence, only being defeated by 11 points.
Who's the Tent City Terrors’ biggest rival?
A few of the girls feel that Boston is our new rival because we had such a close game at ECDX, while others feel Tucson is a great team to compete against, and always offers challenges with each face off.
What's a little-known fact about your league?
We are one of the founding members of WFTDA, and one of the original three leagues formed when flat track roller derby started hitting the scene again. We are starting our 10th season this year. Our travel team is named after a semi famous prison set up by our wonderful sheriff Joe Arpaio. The first captain of the team was called "Sheriff Shutyerpaio". As well, the TCT’s (as they are affectionately known as) used to wear all black and white stripes for their uniform, until it became customary to have home and away colors.
What's the most interesting thing about Phoenix?
Phoenix has something for everyone and wonderful weather most of the year. There are a lot of things to do outdoors, and the mountains and snow in the winter are only a two hour drive north, while the ocean of San Diego is only a quick six-hour drive to the west. There are a lot of camping, hiking, and traveling opportunities as well for all activity levels and experience.
Real. Strong. Athletic. Revolutionary.
