What does Wasatch think that the teams in the West Region are well known for?
We think that the teams in the West are some of the most competitive, highly skilled, influential teams in the WFTDA. Not only are the teams in the West continually raising the bar in regards to the skill leagues have to be at to compete on an international level, the teams in the West are leaders in developing new strategy and skills that keep this sport evolving.
What's a little-known fact about your league or your travel team?
Midnight Terror has never had a charter of 20 skaters on our travel team. We have had a charter of 9-14 players for the last two seasons, at times playing as few as 11 skaters in a game.
Do you have a mascot?
Our mascot is Sassy Sasquatch and he will be at playoffs with us. We figured a Sasquatch is a good mascot since “Wasatch” is the name of our local mountain range.
What are some game highlights from your 2012 season?
Every game this season had its own unique highlights. We had a great season this year with a lot of amazingly hard -ought games. I think over all the highlight is making it to regionals, this was our goal and our dream, and to actually make it is the highlight to not only the season. But also to many of the girls derby careers thus far.
What's the Midnight Terrors' most memorable derby moment?
Every year we have had some amazing memorable moments. One memory that sticks out in many of our minds would have to be winning the Spudtown Knockdown 2012. It was such pivotal moment in the travel team’s history; we climbed up the loser’s bracket playing two 30-minute games and three full-length games all in one day to win the tournament. It was amazing to see the determination and will power of all the girls, and it really showed the passion that we will have for this sport and for the team. We are also really excited to be going to [Playoffs] this year, and can’t wait to make some new memories there!
Real. Strong. Athletic. Revolutionary.
