Q&A

What are some of your team’s memorable Playoffs moments?
Rocky Mountain Rollergirls 5280 Fight Club travel team has played in every regional playoff since the Dust Devil in 2006. Memorable experiences include rink rash, apex jumping, threading the needle, karaoke, league bonding, and parties.

What's the most interesting thing about your home city?
Here in Denver, buffalo roam the street, there are free oxygen tanks on every corner, and it snows 20 out of 30 days a month every winter. Okay, maybe not, but we don’t like to talk about how great it is or too many people will move here.

What are some game highlights from the Fight Club’s season?
Our bout against AZRD at Dust Devil was pretty epic. No one knew what their team would look like with their transfers and then we had a pretty big team overhaul ourselves to work with, and it made it a very wild bout.

What's the Fight Club’s most memorable derby moment?
Well, other than that time nobody dares to talk about because people could get killed if we do, we’d say it’s probably winning Championships in 2010. A couple other huge moments were in 2009 when we finally made it to Championships for the first time, and we were the first team to beat Oly since they came onto the scene when we won in 2010. That was highlight enough, but then squeaking by with a 1-point win at Champs was the icing on that cake.

Who should we watch out for on the track during your appearance at the 2012 Playoffs and why?
We think you should keep your eye on every single player on the 5280 Fight Club roster, but you should check in on one of our MVPs from last year, Toxic Taunic; up-and-comer, May Q Pay; and Casstrator. Our seasoned transfer skaters Gaygan and Sweets M 80, originally from The Chicago Outfit, will be fierce this tournament season.

Real. Strong. Athletic. Revolutionary.
