The WFTDA, in connection with 187 Killer Pads, is administering a survey to better understand the perception and effectiveness of helmets in roller derby. The survey begins July 2 and the first round of data collection will conclude July 13. Participation from all roller derby skaters is encouraged and appreciated. Your voice will help provide valuable information to help shape the future of roller derby.

Viewers from all over the world will have the chance to view nearly two dozen bouts for free at WFTDA.tv this weekend as skaters from more than 20 leagues from the U.S. and Canada descend on Feasterville, Pa., for the annual East Coast Derby Extravaganza June 22-24 (ECDX).

The WFTDA held elections for three positions on its Board of Directors during the organization’s 2012 annual meeting, held May 25-27.

As announced in March, the WFTDA has created a separate branch of its certification program for roller derby officials that focuses on non-skating officials. The NSO Certification Committee is now releasing the evaluation forms and other tools that non-skating officials need to apply for certification, as well as detailed criteria for evaluation.

WFTDA is excited to announce that nine leagues became full members as of June 1, 2012, after graduating from the WFTDA Apprentice Program. This group of graduates reflects the continued growth of women's flat track roller derby in Europe, with new three members in the United Kingdom and one in Sweden.
