Des Moines’ roller derby team, the Des Moines Derby Dames, was founded in 2009. The Des Moines Derby Dames have about 35 skaters, fielding two teams: The Des Moines Derby Dames All-Stars and the Crash Test Dolls. The skaters have built a reputation in the city as an organization of class, charity, and quality family entertainment.

The DART buses are running all weekend, Thursday and Friday you can hop on the free D-line shuttle to ride a loop on Grand Avenue and Locust from 17th on the west end of downtown to the east end by the gold dome of the Capitol.
