In the first jam, Jet City’s Eva Derci committed her only penalty of the game when she cut the track. St. Chux’s blockers worked to slow the pack so Jedi Knight-n-Gale could score 21 points. St. Chux’s continued to outscore Jet City, but they never had more than a 33-point lead in the first half. Fifteen minutes into the first half the score was 48-28. Jet City blockers Star Tariot, Chantilly Cream, and Assaulted P-Nut worked with their teammates to create shifting and braced walls that held St. Chux’s jammers and gave Jet City the opportunity to earn lead jammer status regularly. Throughout the game Jet City earned lead 24 times and St. Chux earned lead 23 times. Jet City stayed within 20-30 points through the end of the first half with a halftime score of 80-58.

St. Chux came back from halftime and quickly distanced themselves from Jet City. Jedi Knight-n-Gale and Psychokid D Freakout teamed up to score 45 points in the first five jams of the half. This gave them a larger lead of 52 points, and blockers Pixie Dust-ruction and Zombie F-Bomb kept Jet City’s jammers from significantly changing that differential. St. Chux took advantage of some power jams and utilized their defensive strength to earn their largest lead of 85 points with 181 points over Jet City’s 96. During the final nine minutes of the game Jet City was able to slightly decrease that lead by keeping a solid wall in the back in the pack and allowing their jammers to push St. Chux out of play. The game ended with a 17-point jam from Psychokid D Freakout for St. Chux and an 8-point jam from Whoa Nellie! for Jet City to leave the score at 206-135.

St. Chux’s jammers stayed on the track more than many in the tournament, as they only committed three penalties. This allowed Jedi Knight-n-Gale to score 97 points and bring her total points scored for the weekend so far to 328. Eva Derci led Jet City’s scoring with 49 points.

St. Chux advances to play Brandywine in the 5th Place game tomorrow at 2:00 PM Eastern. St. Chux won their previous game against Brandywine on Friday by only 10 points. Jet City will also be playing a familiar opponent as they face Oklahoma in the 8th Place game at 12:00 PM. Oklahoma took a narrow victory of 222-190 on Friday.
