Game 4: Philly Roller Girls v Windy City Rollers

The last game of the day saw Philly Roller Girls’ Liberty Belles face off against the Windy City Rollers in a packed US Cellular Arena in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. There was an early exchange of small points on the track, but power jams started to make a difference as early as the fourth jam when Philly’s jammer V-Diva scored 22 points. There was a consistent back-and-forth of power jams throughout the first, and Philly scored 69 points off of the power jams in the first, while Windy City scored 79.

Game 3: Rat City Rollergirls vs Ohio Roller Girls

The third game of the WFTDA 2013 Championships in Milwaukee was a battle of the green teams with the Rat City Rollergirls of Seattle, Washington, facing the only team to make it to Championships that they had never played before, the Ohio Roller Girls of Columbus, Ohio.

Game 2: Rocky Mountain Rollergirls v. Angel City Derby Girls

Rocky Mountain Rollergirls took on the Angel City Derby Girls in Game 2 of the WFTDA Championships on Friday afternoon. The two teams, tightly matched, kept the pack pace at lightning speed. Rocky’s high number of penalties gave Angel City the early advantage. While Rocky Mountain clawed their way back into the lead at times, Angel City fought back to win 228-198.

Game 1: Atlanta Rollergirls v London Rollergirls

The opening game of the 2013 WFTDA Championship tournament featured Atlanta Rollergirls’ Dirty South Derby Girls versus the London Rollergirls’ London Brawling. Audience members in the packed arena counted down the seconds to the first whistle. Atlanta’s Jammunition lined up against London’s Kamikaze Kitten, and despite losing two blockers to the box in the opening seconds of the jam, Kami grabbed lead jammer. Brawling blockers spent more time in the box during the first half, and that translated into the 17-point deficit the women from London found themselves with at the half.
