WFTDA Championships | Milwaukee, WI |
The Brewcity Bruisers were founded in October of 2005. Composed of four home teams; Crazy 8’s, Shevil Knevils, Rushin’ Rollettes and Maiden Milwaukee, two interleague teams; the Brewcity Bruiser All-Stars and Battlestars, and a team of dedicated support staff, the BCB boasts nearly 100 members.
The BCB became a member of the Women’s Flat track Derby Association in 2008. In 2010 the league began hosting bouts at the US Cellular Arena after outgrowing their original home at the Milwaukee County Sports Complex in Franklin, Wisconsin. In that same year, the Brewcity Bruisers held the first annual Midwest Brewhaha tournament and have hosted teams from across the country in this three day roller derby event.
In addition to becoming a non-profit organization, they also formed a recreational league, the Brewcity Bootleggers in 2011. The Micro Bruisers, BCB’s junior team began training in 2012 and were accepted into the Junior Roller derby Association in 2013.
