The Quarter Four 2010 rankings for the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association were released Monday, Jan. 24. This quarter saw little change, as most WFTDA leagues tend to plan their off seasons after the national tournament and during the holiday season.
The South Central Region showed the most movement of the four WFTDA game play regions. The Tallahassee Rollergirls moved up to #13 from #14, and The Dixie Derby Girls of Huntsville, AL, moved up to #14 from #15. The West Texas Roller Dollz, of Lubbock, slip from #13 to #15, while Assassination City Roller Derby, of Dallas, TX, jumps up from #18 to #16. New Orleans’ Big Easy Rollergirls fall one spot to #17. The top three teams in this region held steady, with Kansas City Roller Warriors at #1, Texas Rollergirls at #2, and Nashville Rollergirls at #3.
There was some movement in the North Central Region, as the Naptown Roller Girls of Indianapolis, IN, move up to the #6 spot, and the North Star Roller Girls, of Minneapolis, MN, move down to #7. The Chicago Outfit moves up to #9, and the Omaha Rollergirls move down to #10. The top three leagues in the North Central Region remained the same: Windy City Rollers of Chicago at #1, Minnesota RollerGirls of St. Paul at #2, and the Mad Rollin’ Dolls of Madison, WI at #3.
There were no rankings changes in the East Region or West Region between the third and fourth quarters of 2010. The 2010 WFTDA Champions, Denver’s Rocky Mountain Rollergirls, are still #1 in the West, with the Oly Rollers, of Olympia, WA, at #2, and the B.ay A.rea D.erby Girls, of San Francisco, CA, in the #3 spot. Gotham Girls Roller Derby, of New York City, maintain the #1 slot in the East, followed by Philly Roller Girls at #2, and Baltimore’s Charm City Roller Girls at #3.
Member leagues vote on rankings within their respective regions each quarter after reviewing the most recent game play data. The next rankings period will be April 2011.
