WFTDA runs on the power of its member leagues. Each league brings something different and special to the organization. This month’s featured league continued their pioneering roller derby ways when they became the first WFTDA member league in South America. Since 2009, Colombia’s Rock n Roller Queens have been contributing to the global growth of roller derby, and the WFTDA. The Rock n Roller Queens are keenly aware that their accomplishments are the result of every skaters’ efforts, and they aim to be role models for all women in their community. Life in Sin City is full of action, and the Fabulous Sin City Rollergirls have fought hard to earn a loyal following from fans in the community. They've also had an impact on the WFTDA rankings in 2013, competing in the 2013 Division 2 Playoffs in Des Moines, and placing 4th overall. Taking on challenges as big as the Vegas strip, the Fabulous Sin City Rollergirls are gearing up to host this year's WFTDA annual meeting on Memorial Day weekend (for the second time), and they have big aspirations for their 2014 season. The Gold Coast Derby Grrls have always had a flare for fun and for doing things big – whether it is their fun themed bouts or ambitious tournament and conference hosting. This league is dedicated to embodying roller derby’s larger-than-life approach and strength, on and off the track. The derby-verse recently watched the Gold Coast All Stars win the Clover Cup, and is excitedly anticipating Gold Coast’s upcoming Beach Brawl mega-tournament. Nestled in Malmö in the south of Sweden, the Crime City Rollers worked hard to become a full WFTDA member in 2012, and now they are looking forward to hosting the first official WFTDA European Tournament in November 2014.
