The 2016 International WFTDA Division 1 Playoffs Vancouver ended with a stunning display of talent in a hard-fought battle for first place. After trailing for most of the game, the Victorian Roller Derby League of Melbourne, VIC, AU, was able to edge out a 143-140 win in the final jam, defeating the Angel City Derby Girls of Los Angeles, CA, USA.

The 2016 International WFTDA Division 1 Playoffs Vancouver third place game was a game of high stakes. For the second year in a row, Rat City Rollergirls ( #3) of Seattle, WA, USA, bested Philly Roller Derby (#4) of Philadelphia, PA, USA, in the third place game at playoffs, earning bronze medals and punching their ticket to the 2016 International WFTDA Championships in Portland, OR, USA.

The Terminal City Rollergirls of Vancouver, BC, CAN, were able to land a big win to end their run at the 2016 International WFTDA Division 1 Playoffs Vancouver. The tournament hosts took fifth place for the weekend after beating the Queen City Roller Girls of Buffalo, NY, USA on Sunday night, 239-133.

In the seventh place game at the 2016 International WFTDA Division 1 Playoffs Vancouver, the Stockholm Roller Derby All-Stars of Stockholm, Sweden (seed #8) dominated the track with tough defense and quick and whirling jammers against the Sacred City Derby Girls Sacrificers of Sacramento, CA, USA (seed #7).

The Arizona Roller Derby Tent City Terrors of Phoenix, AZ, USA were all smiles as they wrapped up their last game of the 2016 International WFTDA Division 1 Playoffs Vancouver. Their 197-142 win over the Naptown Roller Girls Tornado Sirens of Indianapolis, IN, USA put them in ninth place for the weekend—an advancement from their seeding in tenth. Naptown, meanwhile, fell four spots from their sixth place seeding to finish in 10th place.
