Texas, Oly advance to national championship

The Texas Rollergirls' Texacutioners and Oly Rollers’ Cosa Nostra Donnas will face off Sunday, November 15th 2009, to determine which team will take home The Hydra, the Women's Flat Track Derby Association National Championship trophy.

The Texacutioners fended off challenges from the Boston Derby Dames and the Rocky Mountain Rollergirls](/leagues/rocky-mountain) Saturday, November 14th, 2009 to advance to the next round in the Declaration of Derby Tournament in Philadelphia, PA. The Oly Rollers upset the defending 2008 National Champions Gotham Girls Roller Derby before handling the Denver Roller Dolls in the semifinal round.

Cross-town rivals (both from Denver, CO) Rocky Mountain and Denver will have a rematch of their bout during the Western Regional Tournament on Sunday, but this time to determine third and fourth place on the national stage.
