The Oly Rollers of Olympia, WA, are the Women's Flat Track Derby Association's 2009 National Champions!
This year is our Cinderella story. We were not even ranked at the begining of the year. Thanks to the Rose City Rollers for giving us a chance. We are now the National Champions!

The Oly Rollers joined the Women's Flat Track Derby Association in April 2008 and this was the first tournament season the league was eligible to participate. Oly's Cosa Nostra Donnas won the 2009 Western Regional Tournament in October and entered the 2009 National Tournament as the #1 seed from their region, earning a first-round Bye. Over the first two qualifying rounds, the team defeated two prior national champions, Gotham Girls Roller Derby (2008) and Texas Rollergirls (2006), on their path to claim The Hydra, the WFTDA's championship trophy.
The Texas Rollergirls of Austin, TX, took second place in the tournament. The Denver Roller Dolls and Rocky Mountain Roller Girls, both of Denver, CO, took third and fourth place, respectively.
Game 11: Denver 151, Rocky Mountain 103
National Championship Game: Oly 178, Texas 100
