Q&A

What was the turning point for your league to make it to Playoffs this season?
Every game we played this season was a turning point for us. We started this season pretty unsure of the future (we had 8 vets retire) and after every game we realized that we are stronger than we ever imagined. Now, we are sitting on a undefeated season. 11-0 record.

Every win we had pushed us closer to believing in ourselves and realizing we are capable of greatness.

Has your league experienced any retirements, transfers or injuries in the past year that have made a substantial difference in your league’s play and performance? Why yes! Since our last playoffs in 2013, we have had 8 skaters retire or move and our bench coach of 4 years stepped down as well. All 8 of the skaters were regular skaters on the roster all season in 2013. Once you think about it, 2/3 of our team is gone from last season.

However, we had 4 very wonderful transfers from the Gainesville Roller Rebels in 2014. Krispy KremeHer, Noam Bombski, Atomic Mel Down and LeBrawn Maims. Lebrawn played one game with us and then transferred to Rat City due to a new job.

We basically started over this season. We strongly feel that the Gainesville transfers gave us a fresh breath of air and really made us step our game up. They meshed well with our team from the second they stepped on the floor with us. We were weak where they were strong and we were strong where they were weak. We spent a lot of time learning from them and buffing up on our weaknesses.

We were pretty worried at the beginning of the season. with 8 skaters and a coach down. We didn't know what the future held. Now that we look back on it, we came out stronger than ever and honestly wouldn't trade it for anything. We have become a very resilient unit.

Do you have a mascot?

Sparkles Momentum is our mascot. She is a beautiful unicorn on roller skates. She will be making an appearance at playoffs.

We don't have any special cheers for our teammates, however we do have nicknames.

Erin Jackson is our baby. NOBODY PUTS BABY IN THE CORNER!
Atomic Mel Down is the red dragon. You don't want to see her mad.
Jamsterella is our princess. Enough said. :)

Real. Strong. Athletic. Revolutionary.
