The WFTDA Officiating Committee has released two new Officiating Q&As related to equipment checks and penalties called just past the Point of No Return Line when a Skater immediately skates backward.
The first Q&A provides a clarification of the original announcement regarding the new Pre-Game Equipment Protocol. Leagues may opt to have equipment checks conducted for home play, Officials will not conduct equipment checks for WFTDA-sanctioned play. The original post has also been corrected to add the clarifying information.
The second Q&A provides instructions for Officials on the proper enforcement of the Skate Around verbal cue for Skaters who commit penalties beyond the Point of No Return line, but skate in a non-derby direction back behind the line prior to the Official completing the whistle, hand signal and verbal cue.
