Due to several unforeseen challenges with the original venue, the 2015 International Division 2 Playoffs in Detroit will now be held at Canfield Arena in Dearborn Heights, Michigan.
Canfield Arena will allow for easier travel from the Detroit airport for tournament participants and fans and offer the more intimate experience that many roller derby athletes and fans are used to at their home venues. The WFTDA greatly appreciates the hard work of the Canfield Arena staff and hosts the Detroit Derby Girls to make this change.
“While we did not make this change lightly, we are confident that the Skaters, Officials and fans participating in the Detroit Playoffs will still have the incredible experience at Canfield Arena that we strive for at every WFTDA Playoffs location,” WFTDA Tournament Director Alisha Campbell said.
Those who have already purchased tickets will receive a direct email regarding the venue change.
