The WFTDA thanks the thousands of members of the roller derby community who have helped support and document the sport’s growth over the last 10 years by participating in our occasional surveys.
We know there is strength in numbers. Stand and be counted: Complete the 2015 Demographic Survey today. It will take about 10-15 minutes. The Demographic Survey will close December 01, 2015.
The data gathered in the inaugural World Roller Derby Census has been compiled and presented by country for ease of use by leagues. The initial release of the data is in English, with translations to be released by the end of this year.
The data set presented today is from the 20 countries that had more than 100 respondents.
The World Roller Derby Census contains data from anyone who has participated in any kind of roller derby as a skater, volunteer, announcer, official or any other capacity, at any time. Participants did not need to be WFTDA-affiliated as it was an attempt to count every person, no matter where or how they are engaged with roller derby.
This monumental survey was translated into Finnish, French, German, Greek, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Swedish, in addition to English, and results represented approximately 30,000 participants from 79 countries.
We anticipate doing the census annually, so if you feel your country is underrepresented, please encourage your community to participate in the next one!
