WFTDA Announces First Group of WFTDA-Recognized Tournaments

The WFTDA is pleased to announce the first 2016 WFTDA-Recognized Tournaments. These tournament organizers have demonstrated they will meet the standards for tournament officiating and games management set by the WFTDA Recognized Tournaments program and have received the right to carry the WFTDA-Recognized Tournament tagline.

• The European Smackdown - Presented by Sucker Punch Skate Shop: Malmö, Sweden; March 5-6; Hosted by the Crime City Rollers
• Clover Cup: North Richland Hills, TX; March 18-20; Hosted by the Dallas Derby Devils
• Dustbowl Invitational: Bakersfield, CA; March 18-20; Hosted by Derby Revolution of Bakersfield
• Spudtown Knockdown: Boise, ID; April 2-3; Hosted by Treasure Valley Roller Derby
• Southern Discomfort 2016: Columbia, SC; April 16-17; Hosted by the Columbia QuadSquad
• Dust Devil Tournament: Tucson, AZ; April 16-17; Hosted by Tucson Roller Derby
• The Big O: Eugene, OR; April 29 - May 1; Hosted by the Emerald City Roller Girls
• A Skate Odyssey: Gent, Belgium; May 6-8; Hosted by the Gent GO-GO Roller Girls
• Low Down Throw Down 2016: Augusta, GA; May 20-22; Hosted by the Soul City Sirens
• Besterns: Lakewood, CO; May 20-22; Hosted by the Rocky Mountain Rollergirls
• Midwest BrewHaHa: Milwaukee, WI; June 3-5; Hosted by the Brewcity Bruisers
• East Coast Derby Extravaganza: Feasterville, PA; June 17-19; Hosted by Philly Roller Derby

Applications for the WFTDA-Recognized Tournaments Program may be submitted at any time of the year via an online application form and the program requirements are listed at wftda.com/events. For interested tournament hosts, the next review deadline is December 1.
