The 2012 WFTDA Playoffs Bracket Bonanza Game is a competition ("the Sweepstakes") based on results of the 2012 WFTDA Playoffs regional playoff and championship tournament events ("the Tournaments"), taking place from September through November 2012.

Participants in the Sweepstakes will attempt to select the winners of each of the WFTDA Playoffs tournaments. Participants will earn points by correctly predicting the winning teams in each bout of the Tournaments; the exact number of points awarded in this Sweepstakes is set forth in the Making Picks section below. The grand prize (the "Grand Prize") will be awarded to the Participant with the highest score, or, in the event of a tie, a Participant randomly-selected from the pool of tied highest-scoring Participants.

The Sweepstakes will begin on Friday, September 14, 2012 and will run through the final game of the Tournament scheduled for November 4, 2012 ("Sweepstakes Period").

The Administrator

The Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (“WFTDA”) will serve as the Administrator of Sweepstakes and will be responsible for resolving any disputes that arise regarding violations of the rules.

Eligibility

To be eligible to participate in the Sweepstakes, you must be: (a) a Registered User (defined below), (b) not a WFTDA employee, (c) not a skater or official for any of the Tournaments, (d) a legal resident of the United States or Canada, (e) at least eighteen years old at the date of entry in this Sweepstakes. Void where prohibited by law.

You do not have to participate in the bracket game for all the tournaments. But to be eligible for the grand prize, you must have registered brackets for all five of the tournaments. You may not register more than one bracket under one valid email address.

For purposes of these Official Rules, "Registered User" means a person who has successfully completed the registration form and has obtained a User Identification ("ID") and associated password ("Password") through the Bracketmaker.com website. There is no fee or charge to become a Registered User, and you can access right here on www.wftda.com.

Selection Deadline

Your bracket for each tournament MUST be filled out and posted online through the Sweepstakes site by 10:00 AM in the time zone in which the specific tournament is being held on the Friday before each tournament: North Central Playoff Brackets are due at 10:00 AM EDT on September 14, 2012; West Playoff Brackets are due at 10:00 AM PDT on September 21, 2012; East Playoff Brackets are due 10:00 AM EDT on September 28, 2012; South Central Playoff Brackets are due at 10:00 AM CDT on October 5, 2012; Championship Playoff Tournaments are due by 2:00 PM EDT on November 2, 2012. Each individual game ends after the completion of the final championship bout for each tournament. The grand prize is won by the player with the highest number of points from all five brackets. In the event of a tie, the winner will be chosen at random from the group with the highest points.

Making Picks

Participants will enter their projected winners of each bout in the Tournaments, beginning with the first bout on September 14, 2012. Points will be awarded for each correct pick, with each round offering more points for correct guesses.

For the regional playoff tournaments, bouts on day one (Games 1 - 5) will be worth one point, and bouts on day two (Games 6-12) will be worth two points. On day three, the consolation games (Games 13 - 16) will be worth four points. The final regional championship game (Game 17) will be worth eight points. For the WFTDA Championships, bouts on day one will be worth two points, and the quarterfinal bouts will be worth four points. The semi-finals and the consolation (3rd place) bout will be worth eight points, and the finals bout will be worth 16 points.

Winner

The winners of the four regional and one championship brackets will be announced by Friday, November 11, 2012.
