WFTDA Releases Rules Clarifications and Corrections

The WFTDA Rules Committee released several publications today to clarify and correct areas of the March 1, 2014 Rules of Flat Track Roller Derby.

• Blocking Before the Whistle (Established Position) Q&A: Defines "established starting position"
• Jammer Cutting Jammer Q&A: You don't always need to skate clockwise to come in "behind" another jammer.
• Overtime Jam Publication: When a Head Referee declares that an extra jam will occur, it will be the same type (overtime or regular jam) as the jam that ended unnaturally.
• Illegal Positioning Q&A: Don't double penalize Pivots when some teammates are fully out of position at the jam start

In addition, a list of Errata has been included in the Publications to correct errors in Rules 6.2.8 and 7.2.8. These changes are highlighted in newly updated PDF and online versions of The Rules of Flat Track Roller Derby. The changes are also reflected in the mobile application version of the WFTDA Rules and are available for download or update today.
