2009 South Central Regionals WILL CONTINUE as planned

September 22, 2009

Neither rain, nor rain, nor rain, nor rain stays these derby'ers from the swift completion of their appointed bouts.

This weekend's South Central Regional Tournament, The Southern Fried Smackdown, will continue as planned. We have experienced rain and flooding in the Atlanta area, but very little of what has been reported in the news has affected the city limits of Atlanta. The surrounding counties in metro Atlanta have suffered the worst of the flooding & road closures. Downtown Atlanta & Midtown Atlanta, where our venue and our guest hotels are located, has largely been unaffected by the heavy rainfall. The airport has reported no major delays & flight schedules are operating as planned.

We will be keeping a close eye on weather conditions here and will alert everyone as soon as possible if there are any changes to our current status. Our first priority is the safety of our tourney's participants, sponsors & volunteers.
