RAPID CITY JOURNAL- Kaitlin “Beauty and the Beatdown” McKelvey gained momentum on her roller skates, then fell to her knees, slid and popped back up during a roller derby training exercise on Saturday.
“Any opportunity I can have to learn more and improve my skills, I’m up for,” McKelvey said.
From the Laramie, Wyo., Naughty Pines team, McKelvey joined more than 20 other women for the seven-hour roller-derby boot camp at the South Dakota National Guard Armory in Rapid City.
