Roller Derby team adopts mayor

INDIANOPOLIS, IN - Mayor Greg Ballard took a break from political controversies last weekend to attend a truly bruising contest: the Naptown Roller Derby.

The mayor watched the Naptown Roller Girls' Tornado Sirens destroy the Ohio Roller Girls, 133-34, and, according to his press secretary, Paula Freund, he was "super-excited" about cheering on his town's nationally ranked derby team. He also watched Naptown's Warning Belles clobber the Ohio Gang Green, 179-29.
