Game 12 of the 2016 International WFTDA Division 1 Playoffs Columbia determined that Denver Roller Derby (seed #3) of Denver, Colorado, USA, will be going to the 2016 International WFTDA Championships in November. Denver picked up the 211-153 victory over the Jacksonville Rollergirls (seed #2) of Jacksonville, Florida, USA, which will have a chance to earn a place at Championships in Sunday’s Third Place playoff game.

The Crime City Rollers (#5) of Malmo, Sweden, defeated the hometown favorites, Columbia QuadSquad Rollergirls (#8) of Columbia, South Carolina, USA, 260-100, for the right to play for Seventh Place in the 2016 International WFTDA Division 1 Playoffs Columbia.

Rainy City Roller Derby (#7 seed) of Manchester, England, defeated the Santa Cruz Derby Girls (#6 seed) of Santa Cruz, California, USA, in Game 10 of the 2016 International WFTDA Division 1 Playoffs Columbia. Santa Cruz came into this tournament ranked #23 internationally by WFTDA and Rainy City was only a few spots behind at #26. While Santa Cruz showed plenty of potential to win in the first half, Rainy City was able to control the second half and stay far enough ahead to prevent a Santa Cruz comeback for a 166-104 victory.

In a surprisingly tight game, the Rose City Rollers Wheels of Justice from Portland, OR, USA the Atlanta Rollergirls Dirty South Derby Girls from Atlanta, GA, USA appeared cool, calm and collected. In the end, the defending WFTDA Champions Wheels of Justice (seed #1) rolled over the southerners and into the Sunday Championship matchup of the 2016 International WFTDA D1 Playoffs in Columbia, South Carolina, USA, besting the Atlanta (seed #4) squad 206-133.

The Crime City Rollers (#5 seed) of Malmo, Sweden, met Steel City Roller Derby (#10 seed) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, for the first time in Game 8 of the 2016 International WFTDA Division 1 Playoffs Columbia -- but the teams became well acquainted by the end of their battle to see who will move on for a chance to play for third place on Sunday, and a spot at Champs. Crime City started the game strong and continued to dominate the first half. Steel City’s blockers attempted to speed up the pack, but Crime City’s defense maintained slow, dynamic walls to ultimately control the game.
