After a tough loss to Jacksonville on the first day of the tournament, the Detroit Derby Girls (Seed #6) started the second day of the 2015 International WFTDA Division 1 Playoffs Jacksonville with a win over the Pikes Peak Derby Dames (Seed #9). Pikes Peak came close to taking the lead a few times in the first half, but Detroit controlled the pack and lead jammer status for most of the game. This gave Detroit more opportunities to score, especially in the second half.

The sixth and final Friday game at the 2015 International WFTDA Division 1 Playoffs in Jacksonville saw hometown hosts Jacksonville RollerGirls (#9) take on the Detroit Derby Girls (#21) from Michigan.

The #10 Seed Charlottesville Derby Dames upset #7 Seed Glasgow Roller Derby earlier in the day Friday to earn the chance to play the #2 Denver Roller Derby in their first game of the 2015 International WFTDA Division 1 Playoffs Jacksonville. Denver is the highest-ranked team that Charlottesville has played this season, and Charlottesville is the lowest-ranked team Denver has played this season. The strong defense Charlottesville displayed earlier in the day was tested by Denver, whose agile jammers found ways to sneak through the smallest holes.

Two former East Region teams faced off in the second quarterfinal at the 2015 International WFTDA Division 1 Playoffs Jacksonville today. London Rollergirls from London, UK, entered this tournament as the top seed and Steel City Roller Derby entered as the. Steel City had already won a game first thing Friday morning to make it to the quarterfinal.

In the third game of the 2015 International WFTDA Division 1 Playoffs in Jacksonville, closely ranked rivals Atlanta (#13) and Tampa (#18) rolled in looking ready to advance in the bracket. Seeded at 4 and 5, respectively, these southeastern teams have a long history of back-and-forth rankings battles--most significant of which was Tampa’s victory in their most recent competition with Atlanta in May.
