The WFTDA is releasing public versions of the WFTDA Forfeit Policy, WFTDA Suspension Policy and the WFTDA Tournament Track Setup Requirements. These documents outline requirements that have been in place for WFTDA tournaments in recent years and are being published to make them readily available to roller derby fans and leagues worldwide.
The WFTDA Forfeit Policy has been effective for all sanctioned games and WFTDA-organized tournaments since July 1, 2013, following a WFTDA membership vote. The document and policies outline Games Review Panel (GRP) policies, appeals and game and score credit applicability for forfeits during WFTDA-sanctioned play.
The WFTDA Suspension Policy was updated in August 2014 by WFTDA Games and Regulatory to better outline the procedures and limits of the WFTDA expulsion and suspension process for WFTDA Playoffs and Championships, WFTDA-sanctioned games and host-run tournaments. It outlines the rights and responsibilities of each party and outlines the appeals process.
The WFTDA Tournament Track Setup Requirements provides detailed instructions for track setup for WFTDA Playoff and Championship tournaments in addition to the requirements set forth in The Rules of Flat Track Roller Derby and the WFTDA Safety Protocol, with some allowance for venue constraints. For host-run tournaments, leagues may elect to follow these requirements, as the document may be used as a guide for best practices in setting up a tournament track.
These documents can be found in the WFTDA Resources section of wftda.com.
