First WFTDA-Recognized Tournaments Deadline Approaching

Application Guides Now Available in Multiple Languages

Is your league running a tournament with WFTDA-sanctioned games in 2016? Do you want to join the WFTDA-Recognized Tournament program but don’t know how to get started?

Applications are accepted year-round with review deadlines set quarterly. However, 2016 tournament organizers who wish to apply and take advantage of our promotions at the 2015 WFTDA International Championships will need to submit their applications by September 30, 2015.

To assist leagues with completing the online application, the WFTDA has created PDF versions in English, French, German and Spanish for your reference on our WFTDA-Recognized Tournaments page.

In addition, the WFTDA has released updates to the requirements for tournaments to be Recognized. These changes are:

• Tournaments must provide a staffing plan for Tournament Head Referees (THRs) and Tournament Head NSOs (THNSOs). Level 3 Certification for these positions is now recommended, not required.
• Tournaments may be sanctioned and Recognized at any time of the year. There is no longer a blackout during WFTDA Playoffs and Championships.

Our WFTDA-Recognized Tournaments web page and program documents have been updated to reflect these changes.
