2016 Tournament Head Announcers Selected, Announcer Applications Open

The Women’s Flat Track Derby Association is pleased to confirm the selection of Tournament Head Announcers for the 2016 International WFTDA Playoffs and Championships. The Tournament Head Announcers will work directly with the WFTDA Talent Management Committee to select the 2016 announcing crews.

Division 2 Playoffs: Wichita, Kansas, August 19-21

Division 2 Playoffs: Lansing, Michigan, August 26-28

Division 1 Playoffs: Montréal, Québec, September 2-4
Mr Whistler (Toronto Roller Derby)

Division 1 Playoffs: Columbia, South Carolina, September 9-11
Amy Jo Moore (Southshire Roller Derby)

Division 1 Playoffs: Vancouver, British Columbia, September 16-18
Lightning Slim (Tri-City Roller Derby)

Division 1 Playoffs: Madison, Wisconsin, September 23-25
Miss Moxxxie (Bay Area Derby)

Championships: Portland, Oregon, November 4-6
Sasha “Kim Deal With It” Morrigan (DC Rollergirls)

Additionally, the WFTDA has opened applications for the Announcer Talent Pool for the 2016 International WFTDA Playoffs and Championships. There will be a two-stage application process for the pool, which will consist of broadcast and public address announcers, sideline reporters, emcees, and alternates. The first stage will be an application for consideration for the tournaments. Announcers selected for the pool will then receive an application for the 2016 International WFTDA Playoffs and Championships locations after tournament seeding is announced on July 15.

To apply for the Announcer Talent Pool, please submit the application before July 1.
