NASHVILLE, TN - Looking for a local thrill this weekend? We've got your answer: the Nashville Rollergirls are hosting the Honky Tonk Stomp, a roller derby state championship tournament between the Nashville Rollergirls' Music City All Stars, the Hard Knox Rollergirls' All Stars (out of Knoxville), and the Memphis Roller Derby's Hustlin' Rollers.
What could be more thrilling or entertaining than watching 10 women roll around an oval track, blocking, pivoting, jamming and doing whatever else it is a rollergirl does?
Bouts between the three aforementioned teams will be Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) sanctioned games. All three will play Saturday at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds Sports Arena. In addition to the three WFTDA bouts on Saturday, Johnson City's Little City Roller Girls will skate against Nashville's Music City Brawl Stars.
