WFTDA Recognizes Tournaments for 2010

The Women’s Flat Track Derby Association is providing official recognition currently to women’s roller derby tournaments in 2010 that are scheduled throughout the United States.

WFTDA-recognized tournaments can vary in size and format, but all allow multiple member leagues to come together for sanctioned matchups. These sanctioned games allow member leagues to compete for rankings in hopes of becoming eligible for the WFTDA Championship Playoffs in the fall.

The 2010 WFTDA-recognized tournaments are:

  • Governor’s Cup, Feb. 20-21, Austin, TX. An annual Texas invitational tournament, hosted this year by the Texas Rollergirls. www.txtollergirls.com
  • Wild West Showdown, Feb. 26-28, Bremerton, WA. Hosted by the Slaughter County Roller Vixens, this three-day event includes 21 bouts between 24 WFTDA member leagues. www.wildwestshowdown.com
