Day 2 of the WFTDA East Region Playoffs ended with an exciting upset as the #10 London Rollergirls defeated the #6 Boston Derby Dames in the teams’ first meeting.
Sunday’s East Region Playoff finals will be a repeat of last year, with the #1 Gotham Girls Roller Derby facing off against #2 Philly Roller Girls, and #3 Charm City Roller Girls fighting #4 Steel City Derby Demons for third place and a trip to the WFTDA Championships in Denver.

Montreal Roller Derby advanced to play Dutchland Derby Rollers later in the day; and Carolina Rollergirls will play Maine Roller Derby for ninth place on Day 3.

Gotham will face the Philly Roller Girls (#2) for the top seeding in the East going into the WFTDA Championships on Day 3; Steel City will play Charm City for third place in the East Region Playoffs and a spot in the Championships.

“For this game we’re not putting our money on anything,” said Montreal coach The Rev. “London have been sponges. The more they play, the more they learn. They played well against Carolina and facing them will be as tough as our bout against Steel City Friday."
