The Dallas Derby Devils are proud to host the 2015 International D1 Playoffs in our fair metropolis, which was named #3 in the Top 50 US Destinations in 2014. The event will be held at the beautiful Irving Convention Center, conveniently located between our famous airports-- Dallas-Fort Worth and Dallas Love Field -- and only a 20-minute drive from downtown Dallas.
Yes, the metroplex is BIG (fourth largest in the United States). So we made a list of hot spots in the area in order of distance from the venue:
Walk to the world’s largest equestrian sculpture. (.9 mile)
Feast on local farm-to-fork eats at the Ranch. (2 miles)
Take a BIG photo. (11+ miles, multiple locations)
Get your science on at the Perot Museum. (11 miles)
Hop on the free McKinney Avenue Trolley to ride through the Arts District and Uptown. (11.5 miles)
See the historic Sixth Floor Museum at the Dealey Plaza. (11.6 miles)
Devour the most mouth-watering barbeque you’ll ever taste. Texas Monthly named Pecan Lodge 1 of 4 best BBQ in the world! You can enjoy the street art while you walk it off around Deep Ellum. (13 miles)
Be one with nature at the Dallas Arboretum and bring your skates to roll around White Rock Lake. (20 miles)
There are plenty more free things to do for anyone looking to experience DTX on a budget. And a bonus: avoid traffic with our DART public transit, which can connect you as far north as Denton.
We’re known to be some of the friendliest folks and we couldn’t be happier to have you. So come get a healthy dose of Southern hospitality and make history with us!
Real. Strong. Athletic. Revolutionary.
