Spindletop Roller Girls

Beaumont TX

The Spindletop Rollergirls (SRG) league exists for the purpose of excelling in the sport of Women’s Flat Track Roller Derby (WFTDA). We promote strong, active and healthy women through teamwork while governing our organization under WFTDA rules as well as developing the potential of women both on and off the track.

The Spindletop Rollergirls league was established in 2008 by a group of dedicated and determined women in the Southeast Texas area who were inspired by other powerful skater-owned Flat Track Roller Derby teams across the country. These women decided it was time to bring the influence and competitiveness of Flat Track Roller Derby to the Golden Triangle. After two years of organization, practices, tryouts, and preparation; SRG had their inaugural bout on April 11, 2010 at Ford Park Exhibit Hall.

SRG was awarded Class B membership in the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) in December 2010. SRG is an all-volunteer, non-profit, skater-run organization. The league is managed by a Board of Directors elected from active league members by a democratic voting process. We strive to exhibit WFTDA's governing philosophy of “by the skaters, for the skaters” by having regular league meetings in which all aspects of the league are available for discussion and/or voting. All elected representatives of the league work together to further the experience of WFTDA Flat Track Roller Derby for the league members, volunteers, and fans. We strictly uphold all of WFTDA's guidelines for rules, and safety.

Real. Strong. Athletic. Revolutionary.
